Linksys brings next-gen Wireless-N routers to home users

By Pc World India Staff , PC World , 05/28/2008

Linksys announced the availability of its new Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router (WRT160N) and the Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WRT310N).

The WRT160N and WRT310N both come with a shiny finish and have a slim profile. These products were created to fit in virtually any home. The routers feature an enhanced RangePlus internal antenna technology.

These also feature Linksys Easylink Advisor (LELA) technology, which helps simplify the set-up of the network, and helps assure that all devices and connections are stable and highly secure.

LELA can help set up a router with a series of simple questions, automatically checks the network for updates available for the router, and helps to securely configure connected devices and computers. Its visual interface makes setting up a wireless network easier and more accessible.

The technology will also automatically check the PC and network for issues that may hinder the installation and attempts to resolve any potential conflicts. No passwords or confusing network terminology are required.

These routers come with Wi-Fi Protected Setup certification. Wi-Fi Protected Setup is designed to simplify the task of setting up security on wireless networks. The Wi-Fi Protected Setup functionality includes a one-button synchronization feature that enables certified products to join together.

The WRT160N and WRT310N are immediately available from authorized distributors, key retailers and value-added resellers. The WRT160N is available at the price of Rs. 5999 ($140) and WRT310N is available for Rs. 7999.
