tax payers and law breakers and follow the money
1 - churches don't pay taxes, so why are they getting involved in Government business?
2- There are over a million wireless microphones in use across the country. But most of them are illegal and squatting on airwaves - so are churches in violation of the law?
3 - Financial ties between church and broadcasters must be in the millions of dollars per year - perhaps this is the reason that only churches seem to be supporting broadcaster monopolies.
tax payers and law breakers and follow the money
Tax it: Ah! Demoocrats, arise!
Law breakers = Regulate it: Ah! Democrats, arise!
Follow the money: Ah! Democrats, arise!
Plain to see where you thinking comes from.
First, churches are far from the only ones interested in this. How about any performance artist? I sing in a group that uses 5 UHF-Frequency hand-helds plus one for my guitar. We are by no means "professional", in the sense that we are on contract or making any money. On the contrary, we are a non-profit, ministry group. Do we have money on-hand to pay a tax for this? Of course not.
Or how about my own "mega-church" that I attend. We have three wireless mikes now - and a "huge" congregation of under 100 people. Do you have any idea how many similar churches and non-profits across the country exist? Thousands. Meeting the needs of people in their community. And you want call them outlaws or tax them?
That's just ridiculous.
You call this illegal. Huh? It's completely legal to build, sell, and, yes, operate devices in these frequencies - because it's currently unlicensed, unregulated spectrum. Duh!
Maybe we should regulate the ridiulous.
but the millions of people
but the millions of people that attend church do.
