The battle for winning in the NAC market was most likely over long ago. New comers face an extraordinarily huge challenge to join in this late in the game. And, remake strategies like this are very difficult to pull off. I'd suggest AEP partner rather than take a high risk perish approach.

Thanks for the article. I like the unbiased approach, it is a great way to let the customers understand how the product suits them. Good point this is not your everyday NAC product.
This is truly different than TNT (who actually uses an insecure port knocking approach) and anything else on the market. The specialized hardware int he product allows it to operate transparently as a wire-speed device that can quickly and easily control access by Who the user is, not just what IP address they receive. Managed by the directory not dealing with ACL's, VLANs and other mechanisms that have proven to be difficult for NAC implementations makes this approach simple and clean.
Just another note, we will be incorporating our health check and machine identification from our Netilla SSL VPN line later this year, so we will have NAC-like capability in that regard.
So?
It is a game of branding the same old technology and selling it at a higher price as a new solution. There are loads of vendors from TNT to DeepNines and Identity Engines that do this kind of identity based management at different price points. I fail to see what is new here.

There are several NAC solutions that do this already, and some that do it passively, meaning users aren’t required to log into a separate device. Plus some of these other solutions provide a lot more bang for the buck. At $525 per IP address with limited functionality, this seems like a very tough sale.
